Master
planning
allows design options to be tested on a site. A thorough master
plan can identify unforeseen obstacles to growth and development
that may substantially change plans for the site's use. Master
planning also allows land to be planned for phased development
to coordinate and control growth. Master plans are excellent marketing
tools that allow potential customers and investors to visualize
future development. The cost of master planning is almost always
offset by increased utilization of land and the early elimination
of poor site choices prior to substantial real estate investment.
Langley & Associates Architects, LLC
has the experience to help you plan to get the most value out
of your real estate investment.

around a 5.5-acre lake. The first phase is a 68-bed assisted living

of southern architectural style. The shape of the plan bends to
allow all parts of the rear of the building to enjoy lake views.
The interior features generously distributed living and sitting
spaces, a formal entry/living area with piano nook, and a unique
sawtooth window design in the formal dining room that embraces

WestSide
Baptist Church
Union, SC
Westside
Baptist Church
is a historic church within the Union Mill Village Community near
downtown Union, SC. Over the last few decades, as jobs in the
textile mill were reduced and the mill eventually closed, the
membership and attendance has declined to approximately 150 active
members.
The church
leadership made a decision recently to relocate the church congregation
to a new site on a major commercial highway with the hopes of
reviving the church membership and providing church facilities
closer to current residential growth in Union, SC.
Langley
& Associates’ work consisted of an analysis of the
past membership patterns and building facilities to develop a
building program. This led to a decision by the Building Committee
to develop a preliminary master plan for the new site. Also, through
the building program and budget discussions Langley
& Associates determined the first building on the site
should be a multi-purpose facility. This Phase I facility will
serve all the essential needs of the congregation until additional
growth would require a new educational building and dedicated
sanctuary space. At this time the multi-purpose building would
be converted to a family life center.
