Commercial
Projects have
been an important component in the practice of architecture at Langley
& Associates Architects, LLC. Efficient construction
techniques, straightforward building geometry and easily-to-build
detailing are essential to the success of commercial projects. This
simplicity, however, does not diminish the importance of a creative
image. Commercial buildings, more than any other project type, must
express a positive, attractive image through architectural design
in order to meet marketing needs. An attractive, marketable tenant
space or positive corporate image is crucial for the success of
commercial projects.

Plastic
Omnium Distribution Center
Duncan, SC
Plastic
Omnium Offices and Warehouse Facilities
consist of a combination of office/meeting
space, light assembly and material storage. Each facility is structurally
designed as a pre-engineered metal building, allowing economy
and flexibility in construction. Due to the large footprint of
the structure, master planning of site usage was critical in the
early stages of design discussions. This enabled the client to
investigate various options for future development and expansion.
The second task put to Langley &
Associates in early design discussions was creating
a corporate image for the company. The gracefully curved stucco
facade draws focus to the entrance, and serves as the public image
that Plastic Omnium has chosen
to incorporate into future facilities.
